Live Music: The Hot and Dirty Brass Band!
Milwaukee’s Own Funky Horn Band
Hailing from the heart of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, The Hot and Dirty Brass Band has been bringing the vibrant, high-energy spirit of a New Orleans street parade to the Midwest since their debut in 2017.
The dynamic ensemble bridges the gap between traditional Crescent City brass bands and contemporary funk, delivery a heavy dose of party-starting rhythms, big horn sounds, and greasy street jazz. Their diverse repertoire seamlessly blends infectious originals with brassy, high-octane covers of everything from Taylor Swift and the Jackson 5 to the Rebirth Brass Band.
Known for their visceral performances and relentless stage energy, the band is a staple of Wisconsin’s festival and summer concert circuits. They are frequent flyers at beloved local events like Milwaukee’s Jazz in the Park at Cathedral Square, TosaFest, and various lakefront cruises and block parties. In 2019, their tight musicianship and community reputation earned them a WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Award nomination for Horn Band of the Year.
Whether they are rocking a festival stage, a local club, or a community park, The Hot and Dirty Brass Band operates on a simple mission: to make the world a better place through the uplifting, foot-stomping power of live music.
